House Concert: SomeAre Solstice Flutes
Enjoy an evening featuring Janina Carlstad and John Fletcher, who play a blend of soft rock, Celtic, Alt-country and folk music on a variety of instruments. They have performed across Alberta and in Northern Europe. The live house concert at Timber Green Bed & Breakfast will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026. Doors open at 6:30 pm; concert begins at 7:00 pm. Admission is $25 per person with all proceeds going to the artist.
About SomeAre Solstice Flutes
SomeAre Solstice Flutes is a Canadian acoustic duo consisting of multi-instrumentalists Janina Carlstad and John Fletcher. Their artistic philosophy centers on the idea that music flows between worlds, transcending time, space, and culture.
The duo performs a highly eclectic blend of Soft Rock, Celtic, Alt-Country, and Folk music, incorporating both original songwriting and uniquely rearranged cover songs using an immersive array of instruments, featuring world flutes, guitar, dobro, and percussion.
Deeply rooted in Alberta, Canada, SomeAre Solstice Flutes have participated in numerous intercultural music projects. This work has taken them to diverse venues including regional coffee houses, gallery openings, festivals, retreats, museums, and provincial parks. Internationally, they have brought their sound to selected venues in Ireland and Norway.
Janina Carlstad and John Fletcher are also known to perform Viking-age influenced historic music under an alternate project name Swans of Winter.
